The key remote from any BMW with that style key can be set to work with any other BMW with that style key, but you have to do the key initialization process with the original key and as you know that requires getting to the ignition switch... not good in that situation. The mechanical part of the ramdom key won't work it naturally, but the electric part can be set to any BMW, just one car at a time though. I use that trick sometimes with my key to condemn a customers key as dead rather than the vehicles reciever ant. or something else electric. If their key won't initialize but mine will... done and done. Order a key.

And for a way to get into the vehicle without a key, as UCrewX5 said, it can be easily done without breaking anything if you know what you are doing.
