Accoring to bmw website on the 0-60 the diesel is about a 1 sec faster than the 3.0 gas engine and only .4 seconds slower than the 4.8. Thats not to bad when you consider the $8K price diff between the 3.0 and the 4.8. For people looking for the performance of a 4.8 might as well go with the new diesel no?
