According to Biden/Obama, climate change is "completely man made"...."and melts the ice caps" apparently there has never been a climate change before man
"95% of small businesses owners do not make $250,000 and will not be effected by our tax increases" - Biden, love to know where that stat came from as EVERY SB owner I know of, especially Type-S owners (where all revenue is viewed as income), make easily more then that, pre tax.
Both do not support gay marriage.
Biden/Obama want time line in Iraq, McCain/Palin do not. Obama will end the Iraq war. Palin says it is a "white flag of surrender" and "Iraqi govt needs to govern its people and Iraqi forces need to support their people, and commanders will tell us"
Palin called out Biden for saying "I would run with McCain" and "Obama is not fit to be CoC"
McCain voted against 1.6B because it had a time line on Iraq.
Biden, Greatest Threat "Pakistan"..already has nukes, Iran getting one "not close"..."a stable government needs to be established in Pakistan" (what does that mean?)
Palin, Greatest Threat "Iran"..."can not have nuclear weapons".."Israel is in jeopardy".
Biden - "Obama did not say that he would sit down with Iran, that is wrong", "McCain said he wouldn't sit down with Spain"
Palin - "two state solution is the solution for Israel".."Israel would be a top priority of McCain/Palin"
Biden - "No one has been a better friend to Israel then Joe Biden" "Barak said move in forces to control Hezbollah", "we will change policy with Israel and stand with them"
Palin - "time will come when people say stop looking back...for a ticket that wants change while always looking back"
Biden - "past is prologue", "question is how different is McCain's policy than George Bushs'", "We will make significant change"
Palin - "McCains strategy on surge was not like Bush administration", "(Obama) said all we are doing in Afghanistan is air raiding villages and killing civilians"
Biden - "need more troops in Afghanistan (not a surge)" "McCain voted against test band treaty" "Barak and I have called from more money and troops for Afghanistan, McCain said quote (2yrs ago) we've succeeded in Afghanistan"
Biden - "boots on the ground in Darfur" "stable government in Serbia and Kosovo" "it would be a mistake to go into Iraq", "we can lead NATO", "we should rally world to act in Darfur"
Palin - "You voted for the war, now you oppose it. I was for it before I was against it, we need straight talk", "you supported McCain's strategies until this race and you opposed Obama until this race", "need to end atrocities in Darfur"
Biden - "if we went to war in Iraq we would be there for decades" (said that before war in Iraq)
Palin - "tomorrow the pundits will say who said what" discussing whether Biden backed McCain or not
"Heart beat from the Presidency"
Biden - "..carry out Obama's policies, reinstate middle class, healthcare, tax breaks, college, energy policy for cleaner energy, end war in Iraq, get Bin Laden, kill Al-Quiada, reject preemptive strikes"
Palin - "don't agree 100% on everything, ANWAR and I will keep pushing that, he has never asked me to check my opinions at the door. Continue McCain's work, get rid of greed/corruption, government just get out of my way if you are going to mandate and take via taxes"
Palin - "say it ain't so Joe, you prefaced you whole statement with what Bush did.." " our school standards have gotten lax" "we need emphasis on the profession of teaching"
Palin - "President needs to understand what the VP's strengths are, energy independence, special need families"
Biden - "I have a history of getting things done in the Senate, I would be responsible for getting things done in the Senate, I'll give my best advice, I'm not the President"
Palin - "founding fathers allowed in the Constitution the VP to support the american people both in the executive branch and legislative branch"
Biden - "VP Cheney is the most dangerous VP in american history. Article I of the Constitution states the VP is an executive, the primary role is to support the President"
Achilles heel
Palin - "experience as an executive will be put to good use" "connection to the heartland" "I didn't have Health insurance" "America is a nation of exceptionalisim. We are a beacon of hope, we are not perfect."
Biden - "I'm not going to change, I have 35 years in office. I haven't changed in that time. I will put my record against Johns, I was the catalyst to change Bosnia, I know what it is like to be a single father, the notion that because I'm a man that I don't understand what its like to wonder how we can make it (is nonsense)"
Palin - "When the Reps were in charge of Congress, there wasn't a lot of change"
Biden - "McCain has been no Maverick for things that help peoples lives." "He voted against 3.6M in insurance coverage" "He does not support significant changes for college costs" "Maverick he is not on the important issues"
Biden - "Took me 5 years to realize Judge ideology is important"
Palin - "There have been times when I passed budgets that I did not Veto (in order for the betterment of the people and lack of support). I haven't had to compromise on anything because we've seemed to work things out together"
As VP how do you change the tone?
Biden - "I have been able to work across the isle to change my parties mind. I have never questioned the motives of another member of Congress. That is the fundamental change we bring to the party"
Palin - "You do what I did as governor and you appoint people regardless of party. You walk the walk. At the end of the day, if we all work together, it will be OK. Voters on Nov 4th can support a ticket that supports jobs, by lowering taxes and government spending..or you support a ticket that supports taxes and policies, increase spending and no to energy independence"
Palin - "I like not having the media telling the listeners what the just heard. We will fight for the middle class. We know the hurt and the joy of America. We have to fight for our freedom. We have to fight for and protect our freedoms. We will fight for it and there is only one man in this race who fought for you"
Biden - "Folks, this is the most important election in your entire life. In the last 8 years you've been dug in to a deep hole. There is a need for fundamental change in policy. We don't measure progress based on how we cut regulations or how CEO's are doing. We measure it based on whether someone can pay their mortgage. In my neighborhood there were people that believed in themselves and they could accomplish anything. We believed it. That is why Barack and I are running. "
