Very nice. Lowering mine is a project for next spring. Do you need to replace struts to lower it? Or can the OEM front struts be used with H&R springs?

Regarding spacers...are your 87s a smaller diameter than 20"? Is that why you're putting spacers in?
NRA although you don't need new struts when installing the lowering springs, it does make sense that if you are taking everything apart you might as well replace them...and if you are going to replace them I chose the Bilstein HDs over the OEM struts. In a perfect world I would have gone with Bilstein sport struts but they don't make them for my X5 or the 4.4 with rear air ride suspension. The Bilstein HDs were the next best thing they provide better dampening than the OEM struts from what I was told.

Regarding the 87s mine are OEM 20s, not reps. All I can tell you is that the eyes don't lie, when my X was dropped the appearance of the gap between the tire and the fender became more pronounced and thus I am probably going with either the 15mm or 20mm wheel spacers, the guys at VAC Motorsports are going to install each to see which ones fit the best, I may only need the 15mm spacers.
