I don't believe the X5 has any wheel sensors.

BMW RPA (Run Flat Indicator) principle: If a tyre loses pressure its rolling radius changes, and this in turn alters the speed of rotation.This change is detected and reported as tyre failure.

That means the X5 like other BMW cars(5 ,6 ,7 series) uses the abs wheel speed sensors and detects a change in wheel speed as the rolling circumference of the tyre changes when deflated.
