2007 X3 - No switched 12V in center console??
Okay, I consider myself to be fairly savvy in all things electronic, but this one is driving me nuts...
I have an '07 X3 I'm installing headrest DVD players in. I have the entire center console removed and have fluked every damn wire in there looking for 12v that actually goes away when the ignition is turned off. Yes, the purple/white wire feeding the phone cradle harness will not switch off. The 3-conductor connector that would feed power to the CD Changer has two 12v lines that are live all the time.
I had a DICE installed for the iPod and had many issues with it. It seemed to want to remember the song I had listened to 3 months ago, even when the ipod was no longer connected and would display it on the NAV screen. When I disconnected the battery from the car, all was fine upon reconnection...for a while.
Is it possible that there is not a single 12v switched wire anywhere in the center console? I am going nuts trying to figure this out.
I have tried key on/off, key in/out, doors opening when key off, nothing kills the 12v on these wires short of disconnecting the battery.
