Thanks! In the Bentley Publication it says the same thing. Apparently there are special BMW tools to remove the bearing. I've got a universal bearing puller kit. I'll have to see if that will work.

Still no sign of anyone on the board that's done this repair themselves?

It looks like this is a common repair anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 miles. So, I guess most owners have this covered under the original warranty or CPO.
