Unfortunately, I have had similar experiences before and have been similarly POed. It almost seems like it's a standard sales practice of reverse psychology - point you in another direction to try and get you to WANT the car more. However, they don't seem to understand people at all. The way they go about it is totally disrespectful, demeaning and insulting.
To those sales people that work at dealerships - No offense but we're just relaying our personal experiences. I'm sure there are those in the business that act in a professional manner.
In general, customer service has gone way down. You name it - at Mickey Ds, telephone companies, cable, retailers, etc. It's like noone has pride in their job anymore.
Wait a minute ... didn't I just say pride doesn't put food on the table.
Hahahaha!
Good luck on your search and if you ever need a good indy mechanic (Kensington, MD) I have someone I can recommend w/o reservation.

My wife was happy yesterday though, as she got a call from BMW USA asking how her experience was, and she gave them the whole story about how they treated us during negotiations, and how belittling the sales guy was. Not that I think it will matter any, but it was some satisfaction for her, because she was really P.O.'d about the treatment (and rightfully so). Funny too, since they have been running all these commercials lately about how they are under new management, and how their customer service is second to none. LOL!
