Actually this statement is wrong, I have tested both with and without 3rd row and the 2nd row seats are no different. Actually when you order the 3rd row you are able to recline the 2nd row seat in different positions making it more comfortable.

I am 5''9' and I can fit in the 3rd row just fine. Of course will be fine for a ride to a restaurant or a game, 2hour short drive no problem, anything more I think will be a bit uncomfortable.
