My parents planted a tree in the middle of the back yard for me when I was born, and when I hit the teens Dad built a tree house in it for me... That was cool.

But I am in New Orleans, where mostly everybody has tats and it is considered highly normal here... I am almost looked down on, and messed with constantly for not having one yet. Even my 53 year old mother has 13 of them and quite a few of my friends are fully sleeved. But it is body art, and not for all people. If you wanted a tattoo for the tattoo, I would say get it... but just for what it would symbolize, there are better ways.
