Yes, I wrote a letter to my son already. I wrote it when he was younger, to be opened when he is 18. I talk about the day he was born, and the drama associated with it. I talk about my pride in him. I can only imagine how cool it would have been to have gotten something like that from my dad. I hope he appreciates it. Another part of me wants him to view it as "no big deal", because I have been so open with my affection for him that it will not be a shock to read it. That is, too, OK.
