MD, I feel sorry for the "youngsters" out there who never experienced the sixties. We grew up in the greatest era of music..., ALL music. (Well, not opera) Prior to WWII, most of the population lived their entire life within 50 miles from where they were born. Starting in the '50's, we saw "the melting pot" of America, finally, truely become a melting pot. Black music was starting to be heard regionally, if not nationally, beyond the walls of their churches. Crooners (Bing Crosby & Sinatra) were giving way to "bad boys" (Elvis Presley & Jerry Lee Lewis). The 10-transistor AM radio was the iPod of the '60's. Rock'n'Roll, Folk, Country, the British Invasion, Heavy Metal,... If you love music, you really ought to look into how the times changed music, and how music changed the times.
