I just purchased it in April. 83k. I have changed every fluid, and flushed the clutch line/slave.
I have also owned 5 speeds, and the best way to describe the problem is that it is impossible to shift the car smoothly on a consistent basis.

Hey all, I finally got the overrevving problem fixed. There were two clutch position switches/sensors that were BOTH defective.
Once they were replaced, shifting from 1st to 2nd, the revs drop off immediately after lifting your foot from the gas. Apparently these switches preempt the accelerator to drop the revs for an impending gear change.
However, my non-linear throttle response remains.
