It remains to be seen whether the Democrats will be rewarded by voters for taking the high road and not getting into the fear and smear adds as much. One can hope so, if only because it raises the tone of the discussion.

In all honesty the average US citizen is WAY too dumb to debate those concepts. The only thing they see is "oh, you mean I don't have to work and get crap for free?" they would never ask the cost (which is SUBSTANTIAL) to providing that socialist environment. Which is why Obama's message is so well received. IMO.
