None of what you wrote even close to resembles the truth. It's what the propogandists at Fox News and the Rush Limbaugh show want you to believe. And as you have even pointed out, it doesn't even make any sense! 
People in the Middle East, and even in Iran, love American culture, Hollywood, American music, American products live Levis Jeans, etc. What they don't love is our military being in their country. That is why they hate us. It has nothing to do with our culture or even our religion.
But by making you think that they hate us because of "who we are", and not because of "what we do", they remove any responsibility from the equation. But we do have control over this. We can be nice and then most of the world will like us, or we can be bastards and most of the world will hate us. Most recently our government has choicen the later. |
Actually one of my friends, Matt, that I had to watch buried in front of his 4 and 6 year old sons... told me when he was home between 1st tour and 2nd tour that probably 9 out of 10 "terrorist holds" they took out had LOTS of porn, INCLUDING some strange shit like transvestite porn and beastiality porn. He said those are some sick fucks. But that doesn't mean ALL of them, only the terrorist extremists. MOST of the population were "great, normal people" with loving families that wanted similar things out of life as you and I.
