Hey guys - I have a problem with my shift lever on my 4.8i. Basically it seems the lock button for moving from Park to Drive is faulty. You still need to press the button to go from Park to Reverse, but you don't need to when moving from Park to Drive. You just pull the lever and I get a 5 second error message saying gear selector lever fault.

Gonna take it by bMW Service but any simple ideas in case I am doing something stupid?
