Or better yet if you have a video card installed in addition to the on board video card, (since you said the system was in storage) open it and make sure the video card is sitting correctly in the slot (I assume older agp video card) try to take it out, use an eraser to rub the golden connecters and then clean them with a brush, re seat the card and try.
