It could possibly be the air intake manifold has started to seperate. We have a 3.0D which was loosing power under acceleration and could not find the cause for months until 1 day it went bang! The reason it was never spotted was it was only slightly seperating when under pressure (accelerating) and appeared fine when not. Hope ths helps.
