Cause if we don't are wrestle about it, the beliefs of the majority end up being forced on the lives of the minorities.

And since America is a nation made up of all sorts of people, race, gender, religion, etc. it's important that no one group and their beliefs have power or influence to impose their beliefs on other groups that don't share those values.

It's the arm wrestling that made America what it is today. From the civil rights movement to women's suffrage to today's struggle of keeping Christian values where they belong, in YOUR home, not in MY state funded parks, buildings, schools, etc.
