Hey guys,

I inserted my key into my X5 this morning and I got this error.

"EEPROM-KEY"

I rang BMW in my home town and the techy had no idea. "Well that's a new one to me..." as he promptly replied.

Anyhow...I switched off the ignition and tried it again. I noticed that the entire dash's gauges were not working. So I switched off the ignition again to see if it happened again. It went away.

So anyone encountered this error and is it just a problem with the key?

What does it stand for anyway?
