Sorry, 2 things. My wife had them when she was pregnant with our second child. I was in Atlanta, and I called her to see how she was doing. She was about 7 months. She anwered the phone, barely, anc oculd get out that she was in extreme pain, lying on the floor, and couldn't move. I had to mkae about 10 calls to find someone at home to get over there, and I rushed to the airport and caught an emergency plane back home.

To mkae a long story short, they told at the ER that everything was OK with the baby, but that she had kidney stones. Worse, they would give her mild pain medication, but not much else given her pregnancy stage. They passed in a couple weeks, but what an awful couple of weeks. It was hard to watch her in that much agony, not really being able to do anything about it. That was definitely one of those times that I would given anything I had, short of my eternal soul, to trade places her and take the pain.

So, I've seen it, and it ain't pretty.
