They're pre-med.
This subject pisses me off especially, my school is known for being "extremely difficult" and I know a lot of people who can't make 3.0's. However, statistics show that people who suffer through this school with a 2.9 get into grad schools at extraordinarily high rates, and find it "easy" to get a 4.0.
Its a highly subjective criteria. Maybe thats why you have to get down to a 0.5 before you're on probation here.

I pray to god I come home with a 3.0. I spend my friday nights at starbucks working on papers. (90% of the time) There are a lot of variables.

I also know kids with 4.0's who drink 6 nights a week and use needle drugs.
