I have 52" and 65" LCD in very bright rooms. I had plasma where I put 65" LCD and we had problems in daytime TV watching in big bright room with 18 feet high windows. Put in LCD and what a difference. Plasma brightness slowly decreases with age. Looks nice when new but with age down the tube. Why did Panasonic jumped on the LCD wagon? And Sony stopped making plasmas?
