Oil Separator Valve..Oil everywhere!!

I'm new to X5 world.. And thank you for those who helped me on a couple other topics. Here is my Question... I just had my valve cover gasket replaced because it was leaking.. Now..This morning on my way to work I started to smell another smell of oil burning..(here we go again).. I pulled over and there was oil everywhere... called my BMW service guy..(Super nice)...and said it is a common problem that the Oil Separator Valve is frozen.. It would need to be replaced NOW... Because Oil will go were ever it can go.. I could run into even more issues.. My question is is there any other "related" issues I need to look into while im replacing the separator valve? Tubes, hoses, gaskets or any other thing.. Like I said I just changed my intake valve gasket 2 weeks ago because of leaking. Or is this a direct reflection on why my gasket went in the first place? All your input is much appreciated...
