I had a cracked outer boot on my 01, and I was going to tackle that DIY but I decided to try to get MaxCare Warranty to pay for it and lucky for me, they paid for it to be done at the stealer. Kinda glad I didn't fool around with it. There is not enough Orange Lava Soap in my house to wash that much grease off. If you wear gloves, you're a pansy!


Parts came to $31.50, labor was $275. Don't forget that the bearings need to be looked at when you discover a cracked boot.
