Hello! I am new here and I have a question about this satnav thing. A friend of mine has a 1997 BMW 750iL with a 4:3 Business radio system. He has a GPS module installed (either MkI or MkII) but he was told at the service station that "it has never been activated". He doesn't have any map CDs or anything else. When I check the settings, no information on Mk or software version is shown. Is there any software installed if no information is shown? Can I install it by doing the procedure described on many websites (download this version, burn it, turn key to 1st position and start radio and put cd in nav tray)? The menu has the option GPS navigation but when it is clicked only a message saying "navigation CD missing" or something like that is shown and then the option is greyed out.
