Thanks for the info/link. Now at 26k miles and still occurs occasionally...will pursue issue w/dealer.

Off subject, other problems experienced w/2007 X5

1. Parking brake actuated replaced (twice)
2. Rear wiper replaced (twice).
3. Rear passenger 3rd row seat handle latch broke,
4. Rear hatch latch intermittently does not want to stay locked...bolts
also came loose...two missing.
5. Parking brake knob broke.
