I am running Vista on an Intel Quad Core platform with 8GB of RAM and 2 terabye of hard drive space. So performance hasn't been an issue with my setup. But I agree that there is a lot of OS bloat and overhead that I would welcome be eliminated and allow the machine to scream even faster
