Some RR Forums have suggested that this cannot be upgraded, whilst I have found sites selling upgrade discs.

I have a BMW X5 and have recently upgraded my OS with a CD for version 32, but this CD will not work in my Father-in-laws' unit. What am I doing wrong, and how can I fix this for him?
You cannot fit BMW software to Range Rover nav, nor vice versa. The Boot Mode iis hardcoded in the nav and linked to the vehicle type (LRO vs BMW) and thus the nav won't recognise the wrong software.

You cannot change the boot mode unless you have factory tools - I tried long and hard with every trick I new but couldn't do it. The VDO factory in Germany can though :-)

3-1/32 was the last SW ever released for the Range Rover, there is nothing newer.

The only way to add newer software is to remove the Range Rover Mk3 and fit either a BMW Mk3 - here you can go to 3-1/63, or a BMW Mk4 - here you can go to 4-1/100

With the BMW nav, you can then fit a Range Rover splash screen and alter the colours to suit the Range Rover (green instead of red etc)
