the problem is the lg software. i have an lg vue, and the phonebook won't load either. i forget exactly the terminology, but there are 2 types of software - one that will allow access to the phonebook and one that won't. the lg has the latter.
at least, that was according to an lg site that i found. frustrating, but not the car's fault.
