Sorry to hear, but when I bought my high mileage X5 i knew it was a money pit. I really hate hearing that since you would assume BMW is reliable, but it is what it is. If my wife didn't like the car so much I would have never considered it and also BMW has great exterior styling. Next time look around for extended warranties cause i got one for $2500 that covers pretty much everything that would go wrong until 2012/135K. Anyways I would see if the car is as messed up as you think it is, looking at the mileage, you still got alot left. I have 100k on my 01 4.4i and it is strong and feels like new. But I don't think the dealer will buy your car for parts maybe a junk yard will but you could just list it on Ebay like another one of our members did and get some money for it.
