I didn't say you were devout or die hard PC fan.. I said, I WAS...
I had my desktop on XP, my Avid editing system on NT, my laptop on 2000, etc. I hated MAC's. I thought to myself, why would anyone buy a MAC when they could buy a PC for 40% less and get more functionality...
- Then I lost my IT department.
- I also learned, trying to do heavy computing on a PC, graphics, photo's, video's, multimedia, etc. that I spent more of my time working on the computer than working on the project.
Mac's are simply more productive because you spend less time configuring, uploading, replacing drivers, etc. Mac's are TURNKEY. Get in it and drive, relatively problem and update free.
I didn't understand how much better my time was spent actually working on my projects rather than working on keeping the computer running well until I got a MAC.
I used to spend at least 20% of my time dealing with computer issues. Now if I spend 2% of my time, that's a lot. It's a productivity enhancer. And they really are much better, nicer machines to work on that enhance productivity.
