He claimed he got me 79 in a 55 back on 5 Sept 2008, and wrote it down to 74/55 which isn't reckless driving. I honestly don't even think I was going that fast at that point, because I made a point to reduce speed as I approached the town. I like to cruise quickly, but always reduce speed in rural towns.
US-15 between Gordonsville and Orange is a killer. Most of the folks in court had tickets on that 9 miles stretch of divided highway. The limit of 55mph is always enforced, even though the road itself lends itself to higher speeds. It is as good as a German autobahn in pavement quality, no corners, width, and good sightlines. At the tail end of that road, the limit drops to a boggling 25mph with no increase in traffic or intersections, so it's not natural to reduce speed.
