Of course it will. I am hoping that, now that the inaugural is over, and he is getting to work, some of this will die down.

The worst thing of all is this: not agreeing with what he is doing, or not voting for him, in construed as a racist act. That is the real danger in all of the discussion regarding race.

To is credit, Obama himself stays out of most of this, which is why I am hoping it will die down.

I can understand, to a point, the significance of this to black folks. I am just hoping to move past it in the discussion.

On another note - all of the "give the man a chance" rhetoric is similarly old. I don't recall any Dems saying that when GHB won in 2000. All of the rhetoric was "he is not my president", or "he stole the election".

Funny how short term memory works for people.
