2004 X5 3.0D 130.000km's
Sudden lack of power and some smoke from the exhaust.
Managed to get it to a BMW dealer in Luxembourg.
They told me that if it was the turbo it would cost about 1000 euros for the parts + 1000 euros labour.
6 days later got a call from them saying it was a blown turbo indeed and that the exhaust was full of oil.
Just for the parts 3600 euros
As I read this I told him to just replace the turbo and drain the oil from the exhaust.
Unfortunately Spice didn't follow up on his story.
Do you think the cat will have to be replaced as well?
Guess it will be a lot cheaper to replace the cat myself if needed.
Can you drive the car normally if the cat is not functioning?
