You are only interested in rendering bass through your amp so connecting only #7 and #14 to the high level inputs should suffice. Yes you have to connect the ground too.
You should have 2 power inputs, 1) one for a constant +12v coming directly from the battery. You can get it from the power and ground point located near by the spare wheel. 2) one for the remote power of the amp. In a previous post you will see a pic of where I got the remote +12v from.
