I had a little more time to play with it tonight and decided to try Scuba's method followed by getting mechanical on the ejection gear.

I opened the trunk and decided to try the ejection method one more time. It didn't eject the disk, but it did turn on the display and start updating the computer. The key was not in the ignition.

After about two minutes it rebooted, showed the splash screen, and said it was up to date.

WTF?

It's working beautifully and fully updated.
