As a citizen of your largest and most significant foreign oil supplier I resent the fact that you are indirectly accusing Canada of funding terrorism and weapons development 
I agree with your second point. Green initiatives need to be seen as business opportunities, not as repressive socialist agendas. Just ask all the people selling CF lightbulbs, solar cells, and Prius cars.
