That is sad news. I just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-52V4100 (couldn't pass up the cheap price of $1500) and I was disappointed. Sure it's not the top of the line but it is 1080p. I thought it would compare favorably with my Pioneer 6070 (only 720p). Nope, not even close. I guess its not fair since the Pio cost $4,200.

Well hopefully now I can pickup a good deal on the newer models - or maybe the prices will go up!
