Funny, my wife wants me to take mine off. Just got my new X5 two weeks ago and the new running boards are causing my wife great pain. The step is not too high and not too low and really is a strange height and is difficult to use. My wife gets her pants dirty everytime she gets in or out of the truck.

Went to the dealer yesterday and he wants $1,200 to remove the running boards and put some kind of trim piece in its place.
