Don't worry, mD. You're not the only one who has little or no use for social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, etc. I hardly text, I don't twitter. Must be gettin' old since I used to be be the uber geek and I don't see the point to MySpace, Facebook and Twittering

I did order a Kindle 2 I'm interested to see whether it will work well for me. I don't travel that much anymore but I spend too much time in front of my 24" LCD and 52" TV in my office so eInk may be better for reading books, blogs, the Financial Times and The New Yorker.
