For the E53 platform you can use the regular yellow head for programming, don't need the OPPS head. And you could do all your diagnosing and programming with V44, so you wouldn't need SSS v28. Which is probably for the better as the SSS (software service station) would likely need its own computer as well and can be a pain. I prefer the GT1 myself for the E53, it's just the newer cars that need the SSS.
