In addition to the stop&go vs. highway comparo, I also believe
that a garaged car suffers much less wear on the ol'paint job and,
other systems.

As for parking in public places, I am fortunate that I don't have
to do much of that, and when I do, I park at the far end of a lot
in an empty location as possible. The '01 X and the '02 Vette
have very few scrapes due to my slightly obsessive behaviour.
