The Nav will work fine without the TV tuner. If you DO buy one, make absolutely certain it's one of the new Hybrid modules as there are loads of Analog tuners flooding the UK/Euro market as people frantically upgrade to Digital. Analog tuners go from £50 - £100 for an old 4:3 only version to £300 for a newer 16:9 version. Hybrid's go for anything from £450 upwards
Also, TV reception on these in-car tuners (in the UK at any rate) is pretty mediocre. Just a gimick really (he says after just upgrading the X3 to a Hybrid module
