Weird radio problem

Hi everyone,

New to the forum and this is my first post. Great resource. Anyway, I recently picked up a 2001 4.4i for a steal, and it's a great car except for a couple small problems. One is with the radio.

Everything seems to work fine with the Business CD and AM, but the radio will not switch over to FM. It just doesn't do it. I'm new to BWM, and unsure with my model whether the display and radio are all one unit, if the thing might be dying, or this could (most frustratingly!) just be a $0.05 button gone bad. I miss FM, and I use it with a FM transmitter for my iPod, which I know is not the perfect solution, but I have been happy with it.

I like the clean look of the factory radio, even with its limitations compared to aftermarket units. Plus, it's killing me thinking of spending hundreds of dollars because of a broken switch.

Any advice, guys? I read about disconnecting the battery, and a radio control menu, but could use some help. A search didn't appear to turn up what I'm needing.

Thanks in advance!

- Robert
