You need to get a set with the following:

1. 6000K (Anything above that starts to look to blue/purple, which is much too ricey for these kind of cars).
2. I suggest going with a 35W kit, instead of a 55W kit. The 35W kit should come as a "Slim Ballast". This will make it MUCH easier to mount the ballasts inside the front bumper.
3. Make sure the kit has cancelling cables, so it does not throw off an error code in iDrive.

I believe there is a member on this site that sells Fog Kits for the X5. Although I didn't buy from this member, I've heard nothing but good things. I used the vendor that I buy all my mods from for all my BMW's. I just have a good relationship with them, so there's no need for me to go elsewhere.
