I'll try and take pictures tonight of how they sit inside the housing. What I do need to let you know is that the metal covering is no longer used. However, I have it neatly tucked into the plastic housing, just along side and slightly above the bulb. There was no soldering involved. The resistor arms snake neatly through each clamp, as there's a hole in each to slide each arm through. I then used needle nose pliers to tuck them away and to make sure they didn't touch each other or the metal housing, inside the plastic casing.
It will make a lot more sense when I take pictures and when you open these up and see for yourself.
The resistors are key. I can't go with any error messages. That is too annoying. I need it to be perfect. As for the heating of the resistors, I have never had any issues with my E60's and I've had these LED License Plate bulbs on my cars for 3 years now.
