Nice article. I agree with him. But his solution of replacing them all will solve nothing. It may give temporary relief, but the problem will return rather quickly as the lobbyists will still be there, and the new replacement politicians will still need to raise money for their campaigns.
The problem is the system, not the individuals. Any system that puts 100% faith in 500+ individuals to turn down personal gain to do what is best for the majority of the people is a system that will fail every single time.
As long as politicians make decisions that will impact the profit that companies make, and as long as those companies are able to donate money to politicians, we will never have an honest system. Until those things are changed, the results you see now is about the best you can hope for.
