It feels good to drive the X5 again

I have been on business trip for the last 4 days in the New-York Westchester area where I got a Subaru Outback as a rental. I flew back to Raleigh this afternoon and then drove the X5 from the RDU airport back home. The Subaru is a pretty decent car but ... Man! what a difference! The distance between the airport and my home is only 15miles but I enjoyed driving my X again so much that I extended the trip for another 20mns . The problem with that car is that you get addicted to it and can never drive a lesser car anymore.
That is actually how I bought the X5 initialy 7 months ago. I went to the huge Carmax dealer here in Raleigh. I had no intention or idea to by a BMW, even less an X5. As a family man with two kids who one of them will start college in a couple of years I had almost convinced myself that nice and fun cars were not for me anymore. Believe it or not I actually was about to buy a Pacifica that very same day....yea...I know... Anyway, while waiting on the dealer parking space for the rep to come back with some documents, I looked at a near by X5 4.4. I said to myself 'boy! that is a nice car, must be fun to test drive' . Well, I test drove the X5 right after the Pacifica....again ffffouuuu! what a difference! Then I had to explain to my wife why I picked a car with less cargo space and less seats than the Pacifica but for a much bigger price . That was the toughest part... arrrh! they will never understand nice piece of machinery .... Anyway that is how I got into this X5 madness.
