I know my comment isn't going to help your issue, but I am floored that your 2009 BMW X5 was in the Service Dept. for a month, and you were "not really bothered by it". I mean, are you serious? I would be chewing tacks, and spitting nails! I am a big BMW fan, but I think a lot of BMW drivers just accept BMW electronic gremlins, because BMW makes such damned great engines & brakes. After driving near flawless Benzes, Audis and 2 Lexuses (I know, boring, boring)...it is NOT acceptable for a new BMW to sit in the Service Dept. for 1 month!!!
